INTRODUCTION

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SAFETY AND HEALTH (NIOSH)

NIOSH, establish in December 1992 as a company limited by guarantee, began it's operations in MArch 1993.  The institute was provided with an endowment fund of RM50 million by the Government and the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) to finance its operations.  A Board of Directors comprising representatives from the Government, industry and labour provide guidance and direction to NIOSH's management.

OUR OBJECTIVE

To contribute forwards efforts in upgrading occupational safety and health through developing curriculum and training     programs for workers, employers and those responsible, either directly or indirectly, for occupational and health.

To assist industries, commerce and others in solving problems related to occupational safety and health.

To provide those responsible for occupational safety and health the latest information in the fields of occupational safety and health.

To safety primarily applied research and development on occupational safety and health issues relevant to the country.

VISIONS

To help create a safe and healthy work culture in Malaysia.

MISSIONS

To become the center of excellence for occupational safety and health (OSH) in Malaysia.
